David C Bessemer City , NC January 27, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LSQ9244EQ0 Leaking water from the tub seal THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain. Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking from my washing machine I had black spots getting on my clothes that were coming from the washing machine.. In hind site, I think these black spots were coming from the Tub Seal that was breaking down and coming apart. I watched a video on Appliance Parts Pro about how to replace the Tub Seal . After removing the spanner nut that holds the Outer Tub in place I could not lift the Outer Tub out because it was stuck due to build up of gunk.I was about to give up till I saw a video on how to remove a stuck tub. This video saved me 400 dollars or more for a new washer. Here is a link to this video, but first watch the video on AppliancePartsPros on how to remove the tub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6iyR8KcqMQi Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Linda F Booneville , AR February 16, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LLR6144BQ1 It leaked a lot of water on the floor and it wasn't a plugged drain I used the schematics, parts lists, Q & A section, and how to videos and also chat to diagnose the problem. But the problem was intermittent. So I had to replace the two probable parts responsible. Also in the process of moving the machine a tub support pad had broken and fallen out. As a note: it really isn't necessary to remove the tubs to replace the tub support pads. I couldn't get the tubs out. So I tried to do it without removing them and was successful. As a result I purchased a spanner wrench that I really didn't need. Other than that everything went smoothly.
