Laurel C Mountain View , CA January 08, 2023 Appliance: Model KENMORE Hot water not coming in to washer. Cold was fine I could hear a buzzing sound from the back of the washer. Both hot and cold faucets (taps from our water supply) to the washing machine were turned on, so *that* wasn't the problem. ... I swapped the supply hoses at the back of the machine, cold for hot; whereupon the *hot* water resumed, but then the *cold* water stopped working. So I decided it must be some valve just inside the machine that should control the in-flow of hot water. Not positive of my diagnosis, because I am a complete idiot regarding appliances, but AppliancePartsPros.com had a $30 part called "water inlet valve" for our washer model. So cheap! ... I went ahead and ordered it. But when it got here (super quickly, too!), I discovered I had *no idea* how to even open up the machine to install it! Luckily AppliancePartsPros.com had a handy video about that. I followed their instructions, easily found the location of a part looking just like what had arrived in the mail, swapped the new part out, and then the washing machine worked great. That was in Oct, 2021. It's Jan, 2023 now, and the washer is still going strong. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes
