Opened up the gear case to find the tiny ball bearings had worn thru their case and run amok in the gears, tearing up the teeth. Removed all parts in the gear case, cleaned them to inspect, removed all of the dirty grease infested with metal shards. Got my replacement parts the next day, greased and installed them. Works like new! Saved myself $600!
