How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005965 / WP2180226 Control Bracket

I ordered all the parts from appliance pros. They shipped super fast in excellent packaging and all in new condition. I replaced the ice guide, I replaced the water filter, changed out the veggie bin and most importantly I repaired the non-working water dispenser with the help from your videos. The videos are so informative they have me the confidence to tackle these repairs myself. The fixes went off without any problems and the parts fit perfectly. Keep up the great videos and service! 

I went on line to your site and thought the micro switch was bad, but when I got inside the door, I discovered that the small plastic mounts that hold the switch in place had broken off after 14 years of use. Being summer time in Alabama, the need for crushed ice for the Southern Comfort was in high demand. So I ordered the part that holds all the switches on Sunday, it arrived on Wednesday, and I installed it in 15 minutes, on Thursday morning, and now the crushed ice is flowing. Your site was great, and fast. Thank You, Steven Tamburo 

Prongs were broken off the old bracket. New bracket installed fixed the problem. Water and ice now flows as before. 

Ordered and replaced the bracket. Both retention pins for the switch were broken. Checking this was much faster and easier than checking for a frozen water line or bad water valve. On an older refrigerator, this seems more likely the cause of no water, especially since the ice maker was still working. The repair video was very helpful. 

I did what the video said but I brock one of the holder and I had to replace the bracket also, when the parts came I viewed the video and everything went fine, THANK YOU

I got online put in the model number got up the right parts list and the drawing picked the part I needed then watched the replacement part video. Was pretty easy repair to do. So much cheaper than having a repair man come to my home. And do it at my convenience and not the repairmans. You make it easy. Thank you. 

For the present, replaced the plastic bracket that contains the lousy plastic toothpicks. Water dispenser works again. When I have time, will drill holes through the old bracket where the toothpicks were glued. Hole size will be for 4-40 machine screws cut to proper length. Will put nuts on to hold screws. Machine screws will replace the plastic toothpicks. Have done this before with another refrigerator that had the same or a similar plastic bracket. That solved the problem for good.
