Scott for Model Number ED5LVAXWB00

First issue: The water dispenser quit running full stream all of a sudden. I replaced the water filter, but that did not help. If i remove the water filter, the dispenser will run full stream. However, there is water continuously squirting from the water filter housing when the filter is removed. I don't recall it doing that previously when the filter was removed. Second issue: In order to dispense ice from the door, you have to pull the ice lever forward each time before a cup is presented. Otherwise, it will not dispense ice.

1 Answer

Scott, The first issue would be faulty water filter housing. The second issue, check the spring and ice door to make sure that it is not damaged or the dispenser housing being damaged.

Mark, without inspecting the dispenser section, there would not be a way to guarantee what could be failing. The failure could be in the bracket, the dispenser lever WP2180259, it could even be the microswitch WP2162361 not operating properly.

Tim for Model Number KSCS25FKSS00

Ice dispenser (in the front) is not working. Water dispenser is working. Ice is making. I was about to order this part, but figured I tried something else and now I am able to get the ice dispense. As i pressed the cube/crush button, the little door flap opens and I need to put my hand under and push it to open all the way in order for it to trigger the ice to come out. Question is: will replacing this part fix the problem? Or is there another part I need instead? Thanks

1 Answer

Hello Tim, You should open the dispense area and check for broken hinge "ears". There is a kit 8201756 to correct this issue. If the tabs are not broken, look for any parts that may be warped out of shape.
