How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006023 / WP2186494T Water Filter Cap

I replaced it. 

Replaced with a new one 

Looked online, found the part, ordered, paid for & it was delivered 

First I turned off the water. Next I released the two water lines from the existing water filter housing and then removed the the existing water filter housing. I installed the two water lines in the new water filter housing and then installed the new water filter housing. Turned the water back on and checked for leaks. The total time including cleaning up was a hour. 

We have an Outdoor Kitchen, we bought a used side by side fridge, cheap. It had some issues with missing pieces and a leak. I ordered the new parts, a Ice Guide a New Filter Cap and a Water line. Watched Matt on a Video show how easy it is to swap out the Dispenser Line. Super Easy. The other parts were a Snap, Literally.. The Story continues,, PS. When you order your parts, They ship the same day,, in a couple days and they are on your doorstep. Awesome Customer Service,, 

Used a wrench to turn and pull the old one out. 

I viewed the HOW TO replace a water filter for my refrigerator on appliancepartsPros.com. After purchasing a filter I discovered that the previous owners had removed the filter and never replaced it. In addition I needed the handle for the filter. I ordered the handle, placed it on the filter, inserted as directed per the video and everything works as expected. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros!! 

I called and ordered a replacement cap 

Sent for a new filter cap. It arrived in a few days and it is now fixed. Thanks for your prompt attention to my order.
