How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017493 / WPW10235721 Control Panel (Console Assembly)

Replaced the control panel. 

The screw mount points along the top of the dishwasher door had all broken off from repeated door openings, and consequently the door assembly would not form a proper seal when closed. Replacing this part allowed us to reattach the inside door panel to the exterior piece, and now the door assembly seals properly, no more leaking. 

Replaced it with a new one. Wasn't hard. 

Removed bad panel and replaced with new panel 

Easy to remove the old one and installed the new one and it works great 

Replaced the control panel. 

Ordered a new control panel which came the very next day! Once installed all issues were resolved. Thanks! 

First off, this was one of the best customer service experiences I've had in the past decade. I ended up needing 2 parts and each time they were delivered the next day. Customer Service helped me trouble shoot over the phone and they had my back. There were no instructions online or with the part but I was able to figure it out by removing all of the panel's tork screws and common sense. With this particular model the ribbon from keypad just slips into the circuitry module after you pull down the plastic ring locking mechanism, slide it in (make sure it's not upside down or won't get power), and slide plastic ring back down to lock and get a tight fit. It would be a 15-minute fix the next time, since I know how to do it. 

Replaced soft button assembly; main issue being the ribbon corroding. My old ribbon had corroded between the factory stickers and ribbon. I highly and carefully recommend removing those stickers. In my case moisture was trapped between bottom of stickers and ribbon. 

Bought new control panel! The wire tape was rusted within, which was causing a short!
