How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016287 / WPW10174746 Control Board

Replaced control board. The only hard part was getting the connector off of the orange SCHRACK connection. I kept looking for something locking it in. It was just tight. Finally used a pair of pliers and pulled really hard. The new control board fixed the problem. 

I tried some things I read on the internet first..... Press and hold cancel.....did not work. Unplug and wait ten seconds and replug.....did not work. Take the top cover off. tap on the relays in the Control board......did not work. Take note that all these did work at times for others so it may work for you? Worth a try. I ordered a new Control Board and it came in within 3 days! Very pleased. It turns out when I took off the old board I could see a bun spot so I knew then it was the old board. Dryer works fine now! No more "clothes Line" in the house. :0 Thank you for the speedy delivery! 

Was going to dry a load of clothes on Thursday at noon and dryer Electronic Control Board went poof....F01 Error . I priced a new dryer to match our washer and it was 800.00 ! So I looked up the part @ AppliancePartsPros.com and decided to try to fix it . I Ordered the Electronic Control Board on Thursday late in the evening and the new part was at my front door Saturday morning before noon . I installed the part in less than 5 minutes . My dryer is working just like new, and it was very easy to repair , at a big savings over purchasing a new dryer ! 

Ordered replacement control board and switched them out. I should add I am a 44 yo woman. Was easy to do. Unplug. Remove 2 screws from the back to take the top off. Photo the old control board to document connections. Unhook old one, remove from bracket. Install new board, hook up and replace top. Plug in and it works. 

Watched your video and used part recomended. Easy fix and avoided the cost of a new dryer. Wife is very happy. 

Real simple fix, took top off dryer, the board was on the left. I took a photo of where all the wires were plugged in then unhooked the old board. Replace with new board and followed my picture on where all the wires went... They only fit certain places so was really easy!! 

Very simple!! Took the old board out and put the new board in ?? 

Replaced electronic control board. Called APP to ensure I had the right part for my machine and it was here in two days. Works like a champ! 

Easily replaced the circuit/motherboard. A very straight forward replacement. The location of the board was on top of the drum area, took pictures of the plug locations, removed old and installed new. Worked first time. Took approximately 25 minutes. 

Changed hi limit thermostat and cycling thermostat. Dryer was still running hot! So I ran it on fluff cycle which is just the drum turning but no heat, I had the bottom panel off dryer so I could see if coil was heating up. Well it was cherry red! So I emailed appliance pro and they said wiring problem. So I ordered a new circuit board and that fixed the problem. Dryer is a Kenmore elite about 7 years old. Hopely I can get another 7 out of it. Oh yea also the old circuit board can be mailed in for the old core" value $60.00. Ask for mailing address.dryer running great now no over heating problem, hope this can help out another home owner.
