How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016015 / WPW10163007 Electronic Control Board

In the initial failure the machine would not finish its's cycle to the end. The door would not unlock. Tried the troubleshooting guide in the manual and went through the series of troubleshoot instructions. Checked motor field continuity, door latch and checked drain filter and drain motor. Did not get an error code until I unplugged machine and watched the F-28 code on panel. I then got the machine to run and found the machine would not agitate. This is when I knew it was the motor control unit (MCU). Ordered it and installed the new MCU. Machine went through a full cycle after plugging machine in. I then ran it through a full wash and the machine is operating like new. Part is expensive! 

New Motor control unit did the trick. 

I gave a whirlpool duet sport ht and the drum would not spin except for about the first 20 seconds of the cycle. I did some research and found out how to trouble shot the MCU and CCU. The MCU tested bad so I ordered the part I needed it shipped to me in two days. I installed it that night and the washer was up and running that night. 

Called Appliance Parts Pros needed a new electronic control board .The customer service agent Heather walked me thru the process and it was easy.The repair went well changed out the old board and the washer was up and running thank you Heather wonderful job.
