How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023299 / WPW10594329 Damper Control Assembly

This s the 2nd time that the Damper Control has failed on our Jennair French Door refrigerator. The first was handled by the warranty service company. This time I ordered the part from AppliancePart Pros.com, then watched their YouTube video and installed it myself. The company has earned my business, from the very knowledgeable sales assistance to the price of the OEM part. Thank you all. 

I worked with an Appliance Parts Pro and selected the correct part to replace. Ordering was easy and fast. I replaced the part in minutes after following a YouTube video. Great all-around experience. I have used Appliance Parts Pros many times and am always satisfied. 

Ordered new air damper control and replaced the part myself.

Ordered replacement air damper control assembly from AppliancePartsPros, which arrived the next day. The new assembly included the wiring harness, so it was a straightforward exchange. Two Phillips screws hold the assembly in place. After removing them and the styrofoam cover, disconnect the wiring plug and push the tabs on the right and left sides of the assembly. Remove the old part and replace with the new one. Reverse the steps and you are done. There is also a helpful video. 

Order a new damper control . Easy fix, took about 5-10 mins. 

I initially took the plastic housing off to get to the unit to make sure I was ordering the correct item and serial number. The install of this item took about 12 minutes. 

Installed a new damper. Easy job.
