Initially, around a year ago, the damper in the temperature control unit would rapidly open & close with the result that there was a chattering noise coming from the "fridge". After coming to this website, I found that others had the same problem. The schematic indicated I should replace this control unit. However, the noise went away after awhile so I didn't replace it until about six months later. This time, the damper in the unit wouldn't open when the temperature was above a set point. Prying it open with a spoon handle allowed me to operate the refrigerator until a replacement unit was shipped to me. There are no screws holding the unit in place. You will have to use a straight slotted screwdriver to pry out the upper left & right tabs that hold it in place. Once the top portion is pulled out, slide it up out of the bottom slot. To re-install the new piece, slide it down into the bottom slot and then push in the top to snap it in place.
