How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5671361 / W10572852 Air Diffuser (Damper Assembly)

There is a small hex screw holding in the old diffuser, which after inspection was obviously non-functional. I removed the old and replaced it with the new (which appears to be designed better). Everything is working well now. 

Replaced diffuser. One screw. Piece of cake. Works great now. 

Person diagnosed my problem over the phone. Part arrived and installed easily. Problem solved and fridge is working flawlessly. Thank you very much for saving me from buying a new fridge. 

Replacing the diffuser fixed the problem that included freezing the water pipe to water dispenser. Replaced the part in 5 minutes tapping sound went way and the water is getting dispensed as normal.

Ordered Diffuser on a Saturday afternoon. Part was at my doorstep that next day! I was shocked because normally with standard shipping it's at least 3-5 business days. Spent about 5 minutes plugging the new diffuser in. Within about 3 hours the temperature was being regulated properly and the water line thawed, ice started being made, and the groceries in the refrigerator were back to being just cold and not half frozen.
