How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011718 / WP8181720 Detergent Drawer

These two items were a perfect replacement for my model even though they supposedly wouldn't fit on my model. The pictures looked the same so I went for it anyway and was pleased. 

Ordered the new drawer and received it the next day. Install took less than 5 minutes. Pulled old one out, popped off the pull handle and reinstalled. Great value and excellent time frame on shipping

Replaced both the drawer and the cover. No issues. 

Luckily my late husband kept all paperwork on things so I pulled it out and of course he had written down the model/serial numbers. I went on internet to see about replace parts and found your company. To my surprise I found the parts and decided to order the detergent tray also. They were here so fast I really couldn't believe it. I was going to have my son-in-law replace the parts for me but he is working at the local hospital and needless to say, extremely busy. So I thought I would try to do it myself (ha ha). Well I played your videos and believe it or not I did it (different type of screwdriver needed). At 68 years old I was extremely pleased with myself. The videos made it possible. THANK YOU. 

Reviewed video on how to replace which was extremely helpful. Job took about a couple of hours, consisting mainly of removing various screws and panels, cleaning existing surfaces and installing new gasket. New seal worked perfect and replaced drawer at the same time. Parts fit great, for an 18 year old machine, works like new again. 

Replaced with the replacement part ordered. Perfect fit and very easy. No tools required. 

Called repairman was told it will cost a lot and he never did this before wasnt so willing to do it, I decided to use the mashine like that, after a while the handle of the door broke I stared opening it with a spoon the soap dispenser handle also was broken one nice day the machine stoped draining the water i thought this is it I need a new machine, when my son sow it he told me that the filter has to be cleaned, I went on line and whola!! I got instructions how to clean it this give me courage to see about the other probles I decided to buy the part and fix it myself I went to Applince Parts pro and in 2 days I got my parts its unbelieveble!! IT TOOK ME 2 SECOND EACH TO ATTACHE THE BAFFLES BACK!!! Literaly !!! and the other parts also it was a sinch!! 

Piece of cake!! Followed instructions from video. However, and this is no fault of yours, two inserts were not present in the old drawer. They were never present. The large insert was there; the patrician in the right compartment was present, but the two inserts on the left side were not there. Now what should I do? 

This was a simple fix only required removing the old pieces and replacing them, exact replacements. Appliance Pros had the parts in stock shipped almost immediately. The Detergent Drawer arrived with a corner broken. I contacted Appliance Part Pros and their Customer Service Reps where quick to respond and arranged to ship me a new unit. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!! You guys have all of my future appliance repair part needs.
