How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015207 / WPW10116738 Siphon Break Elbow

By removing the 4 siphon screws from the rear, opened an access plate near the siphon assembly to pull the assembly out of the body to inspect. While the access plate is open, one can install the new elbow from the inside of cabinet. I then cleaned the rubber seal (existing) lubed it with silicone grease, lined up the 4 mounting screws, applied out word pressure while lining up the mounting screws to the siphon body. Be sure to clean the inside of rubber drain pipe for positive reseal with clamp.

The project was to replace the broken hose on an old Maytag stackable washer and dryer. Actually, the unit, is 31 years old. I did not expect to find a replacement part but have used AppliancePartsPros before and was surprised to find I could still get it brand new. It was not easy to do but certainly was achievable. The dryer had to be taken off the top of the washing machine to gain access to the broken part at the back of the washing machine's top right-hand corner. The mounting stem was very loose. Replaced the mounting stem kit along with the tub bearing kit, which fixed the problem. 

First I replaced the discharge pump and both hoses, it still leaked and the belts were real bad. I watched a you tube video you sponsered and went to your link. when I saw your prices I was not happy, much cheaper and genuine parts! So I called got two belts a siphon break and elbow.It took me longer to pull the dryer and washer out than to in stall the parts. You guys are great! 

First ordered a new pump, replaced it using the provided video which went very well, but machine kept dripping water. When I felt around the water was running down the drain tube which runs from the pump at the bottom of the machine to the top at the siphon break which I could not see. So .... ordered siphon break parts and that fixed the leak! Followed all the video leads which were quite helpful. Very successful conclusion. Thanks for the good help and the speedy parts. 

We ordered the part and replaced it. The washer is working great.
