How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013984 / WP9758079 Oven Igniter

Replaced oven bake igniter. Would a bit easier if oven door were off; also if burner were removed as suggested by someone else who had done this. I was afraid that door would come off ok but may not be easy to re-install. As far as burner, I did not want to disturb those gas tubes. It was still an easy fix; hardest thing was getting the bottom screw of the igniter in place. 

Replaced the igniter. 

Replaced the oven ignitor. The hardest part was removing the ignitor from the small bracket at an angle. It literally plugged into the wire once that was done. no splicing or complicated wire works. You need to see videos on how to dismantle the oven parts to get to the ignitor. Pay close attention as you remove parts to be able to reassemble easily. It took me longer to put it back together because I was not attentive when I dismantled it. The main focus is to get the exact part for your model and not a generic ignitor. 

Replaced the oven igniter. 

Watched a YouTube video. I had done this before. I just wanted to refresh my mind. I also learned to take the oven door off. Then I had to watch more videos on how to put the door back on. The part replacement was pretty easy. 

Ordered the Oven Igniter and put it in. 

I ordered a replacement igniter online and replaced it myself. The wire on the igniter, unfortunately, dropped deep inside when I disconnected the old one. I had to disassemble more than needed and used a tool to grab it. With the new igniter, the oven works like new. Thanks! 

Replaced the ignitor. Watched some you tube videos. My son and I were able to do the repair in about 15 -20 minutes. 

Replaced igniter. 

Went online, watched a YouTube video, ordered the correct part from Appliance Parts Pros...got here in a day and a half!!!....installed it and fixed my oven!! WOWZA!! Easy...My oven is working again...and I saved a ton of money on a technician coming out for a service call. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros!!!
