How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013984 / WP9758079 Oven Igniter

Replaced igniter 

Looked on Appliance Parts website and read others post with similar problems. Order the parts with no trouble. Oven work like new now. Right parts, best price. Wife is smiling, I'm one happy pappy. 

I replaced it the one I ordered from your company. It was simple and easy. 

Spark type oven igniter was not sparking. Since the broiler igniter and range top igniters were all functioning properly I knew the spark generator was good. I removed the bad part from the oven and I could not find the model number of the range, nor could I find a part number for the oven igniter. Internet research brought me to AppliancePartsPros. I was able to identify the part required by the detailed picture on the website. I ordered the part on Sunday and it was received on Tuesday. Installation of the new igniter was completed in less than 10 minutes and required the use of only a pair of needle nose pliers to re-connect the wiring and a 5/16" socket to secure the two screws. The oven fired right up and is again working great. 

Replaced the igniter received from Appliance Parts Pros 

Replaced oven igniter with new OEM part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Easy job, needed socket set and some pliers. May want to have a magnet stick handy in case the screws or bolts fall into the holes. The lower hex screw that holds the igniter in place has low clearance from the floor of the oven, you may need a flexible driver. 

Replaced the ignitor and tested 

Replaced igniter but they use a special screw that is not a Philips or Torx head that holds the igniter to the flue tube and to the back wall and they put the bracket for the igniter on a off- set so you can’t easily take off the bottom screw top one no problem - probably done this way so gas hits the igniter for safer ignition could be re- designed for a quicker fix. Just my opinion
