Robert S Hollister , CA August 26, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool 30" Sealed Gas Cooktop SC8640EDQ6 No spark at any of the four burners Sealed burner gas cooktop has to be removed from the counter top in order to disassemble. This means disconnecting the gas line. To disassemble the unit you will have to remove the gas line regulator. Once the unit is separated you will see the spark module. I replaced the module. Note: Because the new module has been updated from the original it does look different. I suggest you put the new module along side the old taking one wire at a time from the old to the new. If your unit is as old as mine (15yrs) I suggest replacing all the burner ignitors while you have the unit apart. All said and done the new spark module fixed the problem. Charles W Fairvew , NC March 31, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid 30" Gas Glass Surface Cooktop KGCT305EBL0 The gas burner igniters on my Kitchenaid gas cooktop quit working I replaced all four (4) ignition switches, four (4) igniters, and the one (1) spark module. It was a relatively simple fix (parts cost > $300) that avoided me from having to buy a new $2,000 cooktop. If you embark on the journey to fix the ignition system, order ALL parts (and don't try to fix only one burner). The process and labor to remove the cooktop, open it up, clean things up, etc. almost demand a complete overhaul of the complete ignition system.
