How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011324 / WP7406P438-60 Range Bake Element

Ordered and replaced the heating element. 

I ordered the right part after finding the model # on the back of the stove. It took me longer because I'd never done it before. But if you can use a screwdriver and pull your stove out to unplug it. I think you can do it. Watching the video was helpful also. I also ordered a new oven rack because I didn't like the chemical smell of the old nonstick one. The box stores have cheaper ones that fit all replacements. But it is better to look for your model and serial numbers and get the right ones. 

My oven quit working, but once I figured out that the problem was a short in the heating element, I watched several online videos on how to replace the element. It seemed simple enough, so I ordered a replacement element, which arrived in good time. From there it was a matter of switching off the circuit, unscrewing the element from the rear of the oven, disconnecting the terminals, then reattaching the terminals to the new element. I then screwed the new element into the rear of the oven, replaced the racks, and it was done. Don't know how much I saved by doing it myself, but it was a simple fix. The lesson here: online videos can show you how to fix a lot of stuff yourself.

Ordered new coil and got it on one day!!!!! 

Replacing the bake element was super easy! I'm 9 months pregnant and had no trouble removing the old element and installing the new one.

Replaced them both in under 30 minutes. Dummy on indicator light now gone and the oven is baking like it's brand new. 

Ordered the new burner. It came in just a couple of days and when it arrived the garage door was down except for about 8 inches so the cat could come and go. The delivery person slides it into the garage. When my wife got home she opened the door with her remote and drove in not seeing the burner and ran over it. I was able to straighten it out and install it without a hitch. The oven works fine now.
