How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010824 / WP74003019 Oven Bake Element

After troubleshooting potential causes for the oven not heating, I determined that the heating element was no longer functional. The part arrived in 2 days. I turned off power to oven, unscrewed 2 screws holding element in place, and removed old element. New element was easy to slide into terminals, then replaced screws. In the past, I paid a technician to do this. The cost was $97. Do it yourself cost $37, and less than a half hour with troubleshooting and installation.

After receiving the new element, I installed it. 

I replaced the heating element! 

This is a simple repair that anyone can do. Cut off breaker or unplug your oven first, remove racks, locate the screws that are on the bracket that holds your element and remove. Unpack your new element and lay it next to your old one, gently pull out your element so that wires don't pull off, when your able to see the wires remove and replace them on new element one. Remove the old element out of your way and install screws back into your new element after pushing back in place gently. Plug back in your oven or cut breaker back on. Turn on your oven and element should get warm rapidly. Brian H. 

Removed two Philips head screws (one on each end of the element's brackets). Pulled out the old element until the connector on each end is exposed, then disconnected the push-on/off connector at each end. Installed the new element in reverse order and the job was done. Oh yeah, turn the breaker off or unplug the stove...this element is "electrically hot" and you will be in danger if you don't. 

Removed old element and replaced with new element. 

Purchased new one which arrived promptly and works just fine after it was installed. I would buy from this seller again.
