How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024122 / WPY04000066 Bake Element Kit

Replaced it. 

Replaced both elements and bulb. 

I found out, through AppliancePartsPros, that the board for my oven has been discontinued, this means I will probably need to find another oven. But, I was surprised when you gave me the part number for a used part if I needed it. So glad to know all of this is Ava. The customer service was awesome. 

Just replaced the old broken element with a new one. 

I ordered the replacement part. The model number tag was somewhat obscured, but I texted a representative who was able to determine what part was needed by only the first four digits that I was able to provide. The part was exactly what I needed. An appliance repair company estimated $325.00, parts and labor for repair. That’s what encouraged me to do it myself. I turned off power to the unit, used a Phillips head screwdriver to remove two screws that held a plate to the oven wall. Used my hands to un clip the element from the power source, clipped in the new element. Used the same two screws to reattach the oven wall plate. Restored electrical power in the breaker box and turned on the oven. It was so easy! 

So simple, just disconnect the old one and connect the new one. GREAT! 

Replaced heating element. Oven problem fixed. 

Followed a video on Youtube. It was a little hard to move around in the small oven, but not too difficult. Only issue was concern the wires may fall back into unit after I removed the old element. Was able to remove and replace with no issues. Anyone can do this repair. 

I watched diy video and place order parts from AppliancePartsPros. It was very easy to find what I needed and shipping was very fast. As soon as I got my parts, I replace elements and our oven was back in working condition. 

The website was helpful for diagnostics. I replaced the oven heating element, after having watched video instructions. There were no instuctions accompanying the new heating element, but I appreciated being able to view the process on the video. Replacement was quick and easy.
