This site sent the right part, very quick ship and the filter went in easily. I will order from this site again. 

I called my warranty company and they sent over a tech from Sears. Diagnosed the issue as a faulty Water Inlet Valve and possibly a Filter Housing issue. So they wanted over $500 to replace just the valve - which the warranty company denied anyway, stating that the valve isn't covered (hmm, I intend on fighting this). So I took to the internet and found a video guide here on how to replace the valve. It seemed pretty easy enough, and being an avid DIY guy, I decided to order the part and give it a shot myself. Long story short and about $300 savings later, I've replaced the faulty valve and my refrigerator is running fine again. The instructions that came in the box were straight-to-the-point and very easy to follow. 

My 6 yr. old Whirlpool fridge stopped making ice and the in-door water dispenser trickled water and made clicking noises when depressed. Researched causes and ordered the water inlet valve and a new water filter ( I had never changed the filter before). Replaced these parts in about 25 minutes with help from the repair video...everything went easily into place. Had to disconnect the water line to the ice maker in order to thaw the ice build-up in the line after replacing the parts. Once the line was cleared, the ice maker started and I had a quiet steady stream of water coming from the water dispenser. It took longer to diagnose the problem and order the parts than it did to fix the fridge. 

Ordered the part, removed the old drawer and installed the new one. Also installed the new water filter and cap. 

Ordered new drip tray and water filter. Easy install on the tray--will install water filter when I get back from vacation. Most impressive was the very fast delivery. I ordered on a Thursday afternoon and it arrived 2 days later. 

This was my first attempt to fix things. There was substantial ice on the evaporator coils, so I got a new evap fan motor and defrost thermostat, and threw in the condenser fan motor for good measure. Before the parts even came I realized there was too little airflow from freezer to refrigerator, so I ordered an air baffle assembly as well. Good thing: in the end it was the air baffle assembly that needed replacing. Now everything works. This particular order was not wasted, however. After installing the new condenser fan motor, air flow through the condenser coils is greatly increased, so I think that motor was about to fail. 

This time it was a "snap". If anyone is replacing the filter for the 1st time, watch the video on how to do it (wish it had been up when I bought my 1st filter). The Kenmore fridge came with the house we bought and I spent about an hour trying to figure how to install the 1st one. 

Replaced the water filter. Was easy to replace and works well.
