Frank January 19, 2024 for Model Number 106.50043710 For Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator Model 106.50043 710: It appears that the water filter bypass will not 'close' so that water returns to the refrigerator and flows to the dispenser & ice maker through the water filter outlet port. What would prevent the water filter from engaging the bypass?
Rhett March 26, 2023 for Model Number ED2VHEXTB01 The water was coming out of the dispenser very slowly, so I took the old filter out. When I did, I noticed water trickling out of the port where the filter connects. That has never happened before. I put a new filter in and after a moment, the pressure ejected that filter. That has also never happened before. I tried twice more with the new filter and twice with the old filter, same result. What is the problem/what do I need to do to fix it?

Cynthia March 15, 2022 for Model Number cdagnalmyron@comcast.net My Whirlpool got a new housing about six months ago, and now I can't get the filter EDR3RXD1 to "click" into it. In fact, I just found out that the last one I inserted myself after the new housing was put in hadn't actually been filtering. I left it in thinking perhaps this housing didn't require the loud "click," but I was wrong. What should I try? I've been using Glacial Pure filters for years but do I need to go back to the Whirlpool brand, perhaps?

1 Answer James, the dispenser will need to be held down as water pushes the air in the filter out. It can take up to a minute of holding the dispenser down before water sputters out.
