How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006836 / WP2256096 Ice Maker Water Supply Tube

Ordered new parts from ApplianceParts Pro. The videos were a great help 

I ordered and installed a new ice maker water supply tube. 

I watched the Appliancepartspros video on YouTube. I was able to find the correct parts for my freezer. I called their service number and a very polite and knowledgeable man verified the parts that I needed and placed the order for me. Although I had selected regular mail delivery all of the parts arrived two days after. Following the video instructions, the removal and replacement of the ice maker, the freezer water tube and the water filter all went perfectly. 

I noticed the fill line seemed distorted and dripped water over the rim of the funnel above the ice maker. Purchased a new water supply line and water inlet valve and installed the new parts. It was helpful watching the Appliance Parts Pro videos. I did have a leak at the valve where the ice maker fill line attached. After re-cutting the tube a couple times and not resolving the issue I did an online chat. They (Robyn C.) suggested pushing the tubing into the valve fitting harder. I removed and reinstalled the leaking tube, pushing it in forcefully and that resolved the issue. 

Replaced supply line 

Replace all the water lines 

Removed ice maker. Disconnected water line from valve and removed by pulling it out through the water supply spout in freezer. Fed new line back through hole and reconnected to valve. Hint: Watch the YouTube video that does a great job of illustrating this task! 

Purchased new water supply valve kit and hose and replaced the old one that was leaking by and installed it with the help of the websites "how to" video. New valve looks different than the factory set up but the kit came with a universal mounting bracket that made installation pretty simple. 

I fixed it by ordering parts and watching the videos provided by this site. I probably saved over $200 in labor costs.
