How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3038817 / 8169353 Outer Door Frame (Black)

Replaced outer frame and handle 

Excellent delivery on the new frame. Took me about 20 minutes to remove the old plastic frame, remove and clean the handle and glass, install into the new frame and snap on. The frame attaches with 3 screws. The problem is caused by Whrilpool's poor design for the bottom glass braces which are molded plastic as part of the door. They are not strong enough to withstand a few door slams and break off, leaving the glass unsupported. The AppliancePartsPros folks are top notch and deliver as promised. 

I easily found the replacement parts I needed from your web site, watched a repair video you had available, and replaced the broken parts you sent me. It was as simple as you said it would be. 

I ordered this frame from Appliance Parts Pros.com . I had the model and serial number, which made ordering easy. The part arrived in good time, about 10 days. My husband had no problem taking the glass off the old frame. We had to scrape the old silicone off....a piece of cake. You must make sure you have some all purpose silicone on hand to secure the glass in the new frame. After this has dried, the frame snapped into place easily and we secured with the screws from the old frame. Put the old handle on the new frame. All in all, it was a very easy fix. 

This is the second time using AppliancePartsPro and extremely happy both times. This time we had a broken frame and handle to our microwave. Ordered the two pieces and they arrived within a few days (tip: always order the cheapest delivery method because these folks pack and send within 24 hrs!). The only thing I did not realize was that a glass was attached to the frame (duh!). Found this out when I removed the old frame. Removing was kinda easy because - like I mentioned earlier - it was shattered on one corner. The glass was glued in but easily removed. I basically inserted the glass into the new frame (without glue) - this is was most difficult part because the plastic grips seemed "delicate" but I did it successfully... no glue this time round for the glass (hopefully it will not move). Attaching the handle and then attaching back to the microwave was very straightforward - once I figured out the "clicks". All in all, a great experience and saved us from buying a new mircowave! 

Replaced frame and handle. The frame snaps in, a little tricky to install without breaking it......but fit just fine. 

Door cracked on the microwave. Replaced the plastic door.

Ordered the replacement cover from appliance parts pro. Cover was reasonably priced. Ordering was easy. Part came on 2ND DAY. Very pleased. Would highly recommend them.
