How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011024 / WP74008014 Oven Door Hinge

Just that parts exchange. 

Replaced hinges. Easy job! 

1. I removed the door and replaced hinge and spring assembly took about 30 min. Only tool used was #2 Philips. 2. I shut off power to oven and removed lite lens and bulb. The old socket broke loose from age. It took a little twisting and pulling with needle nose pliers to remove l then plugged in new lite and snapped into place. Took about 30 min. All parts fit perfectly. Thanks Parts Pros.

Husband repaired it without difficulty. Impressed by how quickly we got the hinges. They were shipped on Monday & we had them Tuesday by 10 a.m. 

I replaced the electronic control board and the bake element works now.during bake and convection bake. I replaced the one oven door hinge as the spring was broken in the original one and now the door closes tightly again. 

Replaced springs. One of the easiest repairs ever. Took about 20 minutes. 

Emailed appliancepartspros -wasnt sure of model number. Got back to me same day with correct hinge part number. I ordered on their web site and had the parts in two days! Pretty easy repair bet I saved at least 250 by doing it myself. Job would have taken about an hour or 90 minutes if just replaced hinges, but took opportunity to take door apart completely to clean-lot of grease and dust after 16 years of use. 

The repair was a piece of cake and took about 10 minutes. Just remember to take out the small retainer pin in the hinge. 

Located model and serial nbers. Ordered paerts from Appliance Parts Pro. First rhough rhey were wrong parts 9nce they arrived since they were different. Called back and the expert service confirm again rhat I got whar I needed. So, fook door apart and removed from oven. Inatalled new hindges and reassembled. Juat luke new. Very quiet now. Going to order another set for the upper door.
