Took them out, replaced the hinges with new ones, and had a little harder time getting the new lid to seat in the right spot, but when it did, simply put the 4 screws back in and it was done. Ordered a new washer lid assembly and both left and right hinges. Watched the repair video associated with the lid assembly and followed it step by step. After figuring out I might be able to fix it myself I went on the internet to gain some insight. A man was explaining how to remedy the problem at AppliancePartsPros.com.
