How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6888159 / W11366249 Hose

I took off old and replaced with new 

New hose 

The big clamp was a problem with out proper clamp pliers ....used tye wraps to hold clamp open it worked then cut tye wrap after rubberdrain hose was put inplace 

1. Remove clamps holding old hose. Toss the spring loaded clamp in the recycling bin. 2. Remove hose and dig the old float ball out of it. 3. Install new hose and put a new 4.25" to 5" hose clamp around the base and tighten it. Attach other connections and clamp securely. 4. My machine had a zip tie around one of the connections. I used a new one to prevent leaks. 

Remove power cord from outlet. Remove top and bottom panels. Drain and clean filter - used a shallow oven tray to catch water. Watch YouTube video closely. Remove hose as vid, very easy. Only tricky part is getting the new hose on to the tub. The clamp tabs are wide apart, use vice (mole) grips to hold the clamp tabs together and allow hose and clamp to fit onto top outlet. You may then need pliers to grip again if the hose needs to be slightly adjusted into place. The video does it this way, but you need to watch carefully to see it. Check for leaks during wash. Done. 

Upon evaluating the drain hoses to ensure that nothing was obstructing the hoses, filter, pump etc...I removed the pump motor from the pump housing to find that it was full of water, the bushings were worn and the impellor was vibrating severely. After calling several local businesses, I elected to buy my parts online because no one local stocked them and I would have to wait anyway, and the local brick and mortar shops were priced higher ever after shipping costs. Upon receiving the new parts two days later, I removed two screws and a couple of hose clamps, installed the new pump in reverse order of the disassembly, and 30 minutes later the washing machine was repaired! Easy, easy, easy! Thanks! 

Ordered a new one and installed it fit perfect was up and running in less then 1/2 hour. 

Purchased new hose from appliance parts pro, installed hose myself. 

I replaced the hose. 

Part came super fast. Not sure if I did it exactly to instruction, but went well through the lower plate on my Whirlpool Duet. Big metal clamp was a bit hard, but just my hands and a set of adjustable pliers got it done. One small clamp, a big clamp and a zip tie. Remember to reuse ball in boot. Worked great. Oh and if you wash bras, take out the metal supports in them. Punctured the boot pretty bad. Also, there is a trap drain there. Apparently that needs to be changed once in a while. Yuck.
