How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4359694 / W10190935 Ice Maker Control Module

Ran a test on the motor of the ice maker to see if it was working ...very simple just make a wire loop and put into holes t and h if motor moves the ice maker is good. If it does not move problem solved order a ice maker control unit. No ice could also be blocked filter a bad water control module or a bad optic sensor. As lady luck was on my side the repair was quick and easy. 

Looked at reviews on the site and saw the video. Looked easy and seemed to the fix so I took a chance and ordered the part. Happy to say it was easy and fixed my ice maker. Very very happy. 

Ice maker stopped making ice. Tried putting in new filter to fix, but it was not the issue. Ordered the Ice Maker Controller from AppliancePartsPros, shipped and received on time and opened the package up to find it was an exact match to our existing one. Unplugged the refrigerator, removed the plastic housing and unscrewed the old one screwed in the new one and plugged it back in and within an hour it started making ice again! Saved us from having to go shop for a new refrigerator! 

Searched for the particular ice maker on-line in the 'troubleshooting ideas'. I found that the Control Module was usually the common problem. I then removed the ice maker and found the control module. I then matched the part to on-line pics and searched for the best price. AppliancePartsPros.com had the best price. The part arrived the next day and was a perfect match. I installed the module and the ice maker began making ice once again.

Was very easy to do after watching video, removed module and installed new one. 

Replaced the Ice Maker Control Module. (MUST WAIT 24HRS TO MAKE SURE THE FIX TOOK) Only hiccup was that the Ice Maker light kept flashing red.Chat help was not too helpful. Eventually found a reset procedure on the web that seemed to work and the red light went off. When I removed the ice maker again to finalize the repair, the reset procedure didn't work, Although the ice maker works fine. 

I took out the one simple screw to remove the ice maker. After finding the part number I went on the website, searched the number and watched the how to video. I self determined by visual inspection that the controller most likely fried itself by trying to push out ice frozen to the mold as it's non-stick coating showed sign of significant wear and ice was sticking to it. 

I removed the icemaker from the freezer and popped off the white plastic cover. There I saw that the plastic clips on the ice maker timer wheel were broken. I ordered a new control module that had everything already attached. I simply removed three screws and removed the old module. Then I simply aligned the finger arm, placed the new module, and reattached the screws. The rest was simply putting the plastic cover back on and replacing the icemaker in the freezer. Easy Peasy! 

Nd I received it Tuesday. I shut the power off to the fridge and started to tear the ice maker apart. After removing the unit I then removed the control module and installed the new module.Took less than a hour and in a couple of house the system was making ice again.
