How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3177342 / 8201515 Icemaker Motor Module

Replaced Icemaker Motor Module following the Appliance Parts Pros video. The parts and fridge components in the video looked exactly like mine, easy even for a novice. Nice having ice again. 

Watched video on how to fix it. 

Looked at repair video on the Appliance Parts Pros website and then removed my ice maker as instructed. Ordered new one and it came in 3 business days! Installed it and now we have ice. Great experience! 

Changed module. Fixed it. 

After verifying that the water supply was working and the fill nozzle wasn't frozen, I took the ice maker out and disassembled it. I noticed that the rotary switch contacts on the ejector arm gear were burnt and discolored in places so I ordered a new part. It arrived surprisingly quickly and after installing the new part, I had ice cubes again in short order. The instructional videos are great and helped immensely. APP does everything possible to help. I've purchased parts from them in the past and will continue to in the future. Very happy! 

Super easy fix from using the diagnosis tool to getting the part in hand. The part set wasn’t exactly right as the tutorial was for a different style of refrigerator but the main part fit like a glove. Total time was about 15 minutes. 

Followed the video instructions. 

Incredible one day delivery and the video instructions were step by step and easy to follow. 

Changed ice maker motor module, thanks for having an exact Whirlpool replacement! 

It seemed obvious that the motor had been compromised by extra ice stuck in the tray and no way it could remove it due to position of extra ice. I asked for advice to see if this could affect the rest of the fill and drop timing parts could be burned out possibly from original problem, as the motor was half the cost of a new complete unit and I didn't want to chase my tail. Tyler gave me a couple scenarios, and the motor was also his choice. I replaced it, and had ice dropping about an hour later.
