How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015012 / WPW10107820 Door Latch Assembly

Pulled out stove from wall, unplugged, remove top section of back metal cover, located latch device upper left corner, manually turned a normally powered motorized latch mechanism,. I was able to at least open the oven door and use the oven for the holidays. Ordered new motorized door latch easily from your website and will change after the holiday. Should be a very easy repair , estimate 10 minutes or less.. JT

Replaced the door lockiing mechanism to fix it. The repair went as shown on your YouTube video. 

I replaced the door latch switch assembly. 

Watched video and followed instruction for solinoid. 

Found the part I needed at Appliance Parts Pros through a search on Google. APP had great resources to find what I needed and the video they provided lot show how to replace the part was very helpful. It took me longer to watch the video than it did to replace the part. Total cost to fix was less than half of the cost estimates we were getting from local appliance repair men. Please consider fixing yourself using the resources APP gives you on this website. APP also had the part delivered within one day. Great service and experience all around. 

After researching the error code, I found that it meant that the self clean latch would not lock. The common consensus on the web was that the latch motor had probably gone bad. I ordered a new motor assembly from AppliancePartsPros and watched the video they provided showing how to do the replacement. The part was delivered in two days and the repair took about 30 minutes as described in the video. The new part fixed the problem. 

Replaced the Door Latch Assembly. 

Ordered a new one and replaced it.
