Frederick B Indio , CA May 25, 2015 It stopped working as the cycle began when the lid dropped It ended up being the lid switch. Something broke inside that did not allow for the circuit to be completed. I replaced the switch and it worked immediately. The repair was fairly easy. It did take a couple of tries to get the switch placed correctly, but overall very easy, less than 15 minutes to replace and put the console back inits place. Since it is an older machine I was not certain I would find the correct part, but the part was available and confirmed via online chat. The part shipped quickly, ordered Wednesday night received Friday afternoon. Great experience. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Richard E Hubert , NC April 13, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT9206BAE Timer kept malfunctioning mainly at the rinse cycle unit would not complete a second load water would remain in tub New timer installed but did not seem to totally solve the problem. Water level switch was suspected. Explained problem to customer service. They suggested replacing the lid switch which I did and problem was solved. Without their advice and guidance I would not have solved the problem. Next step would have been to buy a new and costly washer. The ultimate repair was inexpensive and easy. Customer Services advice and recommendation was excellent and much appreciated. Read More... Not being to handy with repairing anything, I asked for instructions on how to replace the lid switch. The parts expert said they would send installation instruction with the part. Order the part on Thursday received the part Friday, I was amazed at the prompt delivery. Followed the instructions to replace the Lid Switch had the washer back in full operation in about 25 minutes. A year ago the dryer needed repair and I purchased the parts from AppliancePartsPros. Followed the repair video and was successful with the repair. I highly recommend AppliancePartPros. What I spent for the parts in both repairs was very minimal to the cost of having a repair person do the same task. Read More...
