How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4482621 / W10280784 Lower Dishrack

Easy 

Bought them:) The top rack was more difficult as the water "spout" on the bottom of the top rack needed to be removed and put on the new rack. There were no instructions, and it was difficult to get snapped off. I didn't want to break it. It was easy to snap in place on the new rack however, once I got it off. The bottom rack just slid on. 

Changing baskets is no-brainer job, as they come complete with all plastics and rollers. Upper slides require removal of the stoppers, but this is easy task, just squeeze them and pull back. After replacing the basket, insert them back. Heating coil is a different story. After chasing Internet for the advise, I found instruction: Remove front bottom cover. Memorize the location of the end of the heating element Unplug the wires and undo the plastic nuts holding element from underneath of washer. Impossible! To replace heating coil you MUST (at least partially) slide the washer from under the counter. When you have access to the washer from the back, the task is easy as walk in the park. Remember to run washer without bottom cover, just to check for any leak. 

I had looked at dealer and on line for a basket for my Maytag dishwasher. The prices vary a lot and some had no attachments. I found this site and price was about 30% lower and included the silverware basket. You just pull the old out and put the new in. The color was the only difference. This was light gray and mine was a light green. It looks good. 

I ordered a new bottom rack for my dishwasher. I could not find a compatible rack anywhere on the web, and then I found Appliance Parts Pros. The part came quite quickly within a week or so and it fits perfectly. I also bought the touchup paint to try to preserve the top rack and just applied it yesterday, so time will tell. I have high hopes it works. I would definitely order from Appliance Parts Pros again. BTW they are located in TN, so it is a US company. 

I ordered a replacement rack on 1:30pm and it was on my door step by 10:30 the next morning. I didn't even order it expedited. Talk about fast! 

I went online at AppliancePartsPros.com, entered my model #, and ordered a new rack. All I had to do is take out the old one and put in the new one. 

Purchased replacement rack. It's not the same color as the original, but it fits perfectly and arrived within only a few days of purchase. I am very pleased and recommend this company. 

Replaced the rack with a new one from AppliancePartsPros. The dishwasher is old enough that I didn't expect to find parts, but it was a simple "lift out and lift in" job. Thanks for allowing more years on the old friend in the kitchen. 

Took out old rack, put in new one. Transferred cup shelf from the old to the new one.
