Watched the videos to see how to replace the transmission. If I were going to go that far I wanted to go ahead and replace the drum gasket. I could not get the Drive nut off, so I ordered a new one in case I had to cut off the old one. Ordered a drive nut wrench, new drive nut, tub gasket, and the transmission. The old nut came off with the wrench, the tub gasket was easy to replace once you have the tub out, transmission was easy, I used my pressure washer to make the “innards “ look like new, and after I had it put back together, it appeared to do the same thing (without the Scary grinding noise). Found a video that said you have to “align the support plate with the bracket or it will be out of balance and NOISY!” Took it back apart and sure enough, I didn’t “align..:”. Hey three times is a charm! There was no definitive way to diagnose the transmission, so I replaced the 17 year old one on principle. Works great! What’s New? Since I’ve owned it: Dogs, transmission, tub gasket, drive coupling, lid switch, clutch. Love this machine!
