How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985760 / W10810424 Control Panel (Electronic User Interface)

Replaced control panel.....works great.....evidentally the wafer switch was bad.

Bought new control panel for dishwasher. 

I first did my research and thought it was a bad control board. Odered that part and replaced it to find out that wasn't the problem! I went back online and spoke with the assistant to find out that I needed to replace the control panel. Ordered that part and replaced it and that resolved the problem!! I was able to do it in 15min on my own...boy was I proud of myself and so was my husband knowing I could do it without his help!! Also saved me$$$ on having a appliance service come out. 

Replaced control panel.. unscrew just the top screws using torx - some videos show you are supposed to remove entire door - don't do that... i have repaired in past without buying any part, but using alcohol to clean the ribbon cable corrosion... I did have silver to match my stainless steel door.. but I like black better, so aside from the pain of fixing something that should not have broken, very happy with new look. 

My son replaced the panel in approx five minutes and it works fine. 

I went to your internet site, was told which part to order, expected shipping time was 2-5 days, got it in 1 1/2 days and everything is working correctly. I LOVE PERFECTION, AND I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!! 

Researched online for the model with issues that matcheB7809d closely to mine and determined that I would order the part that appeared to solve other's issue. Needed the Control Panel for the Maytag Model MDB7809AWB0. Just removed 6 torque screws to remove the old control panel from the door panel. Then removed the parts from the old panel which included the door handle part and the control board assembly by releasing the 4 tabs holding it in place using a flat head screw driver and unplugging the ribbon cable. Reattached the part removed into the new part and reassembled to the door panel.
