Eric R Merritt Island , FL January 05, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB7809AWQ2 The panel lights were blinking strangly the washer continued to work for a month then quit I removed the six screws per the video for the electronic control, I replaced the touch pad panel which turned out to be the problem, and the electronic control which I had ordered just in case it was not the touch pad because ApplianceParts said I could return it if that was not the problem. Decided to replace both since I figured the electronic control was the same age and probably was also going to go out. Took about 45 min for both since I did it "twice" to prove which part was broken. I then dissected the touch pad which is made of many layers of materials glued together and found that somehow moisture had gotten into the printed flexible circuit and shorted out the buttons. So before I reinstalled the new one I sealed many areas where moisture could leak into that area with some silicone. That took a day to dry...so I guess one could add that time to the repair. Dana M Hemet , CA November 22, 2016 Appliance: Model MDB7960AWQ The dishwasher touch panel would not work the lights would not come on I replaced the touch panel. This was the second time that I have replaced the panel. The first time was 2-3 years ago. At least, this time, I got the correct color. The first time I ordered white. This time, I got the correct color, biscuit. This took about ten minutes. Maybe a little longer, as I neglected to move the door handle to the new panel. The hard part is the worry if the problem is with the touch pad or the main board. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

David W Racine , WI October 26, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB7809AWQ2 Some softtouch buttons not working My Delay-timer button and most of the left side buttons did not work. I pulled the control panel off and check things out. Nothing seemed loose or disconnected. I ordered this replacement control panel. The part came in 2 days! To Install : Disconnect the power cord . Remove 6 torx screws on the inside, door top and the whole control panel comes off. Unlatch the 2 plastic locks holding the control board and then door locking latch. Slide off the ribbon connector. Control panel is now off. Swap the door handle and install (reverse order of disconnect). - All works well for me. I was amazed at how fast I got the replacement! J D M Omaha , NE October 05, 2014 Dishwasher would not work no code etc to narrow down the problem Found out online that the panel often went bad not the module in 90% of the cases. The tell/tell sign was buttons for pots, pans, heat, dryer all went on but the START & STOP did not light up. Tried to buy one locally but they would not accept return if it did not fix the problem. ApplianceParts Pro would and theirs was less expensive even with shipping. It took me 15 minutes to take off old and put on new and the dishwasher works like a charm. Read More...
