How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985062 / W10811169 Panel-Cntl (Stl)

Looked on the internet, found videos on repair problems, decided what needed to be replaced. ordered a new control panel, replaced and solved the problem. 

Purchased a replacement control panel from Appliance Part Pros, took less than two days to ship, and less than 20 minutes to install new part. 

With help about this trouble from their pro's ordered and replaced control panel. my daughter is a happy. 

Robyn's tech expert recommend a new control board. So far so good, I was going to replace the whole dishwasher but my wife hardly uses it and it cost 875.00 for a comparable model. Called appliance parts pro and Robyn recommended a new control board, Robyn knows her stuff. 

Thanks to guidance from the Forum, I determined the problem was the control panel The part is expensive, but a lot cheaper than replacing my 7-year-old dishwasher. Removal and replacement were fast and easy (about 20 minutes), and I did not have to take the whole door apart, just 6 screws on the top, and CAREFULLY popped the new panel in. A little fussy to line up 6 alignment tabs on the vertical plane of the door at the bottom of the control panel and two catches on the horizontal plane, at the door latch but they finally submitted to my will. Now it is back in business. 

Remembering this Maytag had several service calls and the control panel finally replaced under warranty, plus the fact that web research was abundant with Maytag control panel failures, I simply ordered a new control panel. When the new panel was installed, dishwasher ran fine. Broken wheel was ridiculously expensive to buy new so temporarily repaired with epoxy and am researching generic replacement/cross reference to wheels for other models that are much more reasonably priced. 

Replaced panel 

A repairman tried a control board and switch and it didn't fix the problem. He didn't want to risk more parts he couldn't return and suggested a new machine. Being only 3 years old and knowing there wasn't much left but the control panel I hit the internet. The price on your website was not only reasonable the return policy includes electronic parts, so I figured why not give it a try. The pleasant surprise was in the shipping. I figured I could wait on the cheapest method so ordered on a Wednesday evening and it was outside my door Friday morning. It was easy to replace, but you do need a star socket for your drill on this model which I had. If not for the service guy I likely would have ordered the control board first, but your return policy is great to include electrical parts. Will recommend you in the future. 

Replaced the control panel. Took 15 minutes going slowly. Works great now. I wouldn't buy another Maytag but I would buy parts from Appliancepartspros.com. User feedback on the site was great for trouble shooting the problem and getting the right part. 

U tube video correctly identified the problem as corrosion of wiring harness and showed repair process. I could not salvage the old panel so I ordered a new one. New panel arrived in two days. Everything fit perfectly. Repair took 20 minutes and the dishwasher works like new. The dishw asher cleanser they recommended made the inside of the dishwasher look like new also.
