How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007441 / WP25001052 Drain Pump Assembly

Replace drain pump 

Replaced the water pump. 

Pulled the drain pump because sounded like something caught in drain line. Wife impatiently waiting to do laundry. Found impeller would not stay on shaft. Ordered new pump, arrived in 2 days. Installed in minutes. $125 vs ^$1000 for a new washer. You do the math. Wife only delayed 2 days on her obsessive compulsive clean laundry habit. 

Replaced drain pump 

Using a shop vac I drained as much of the water as I could out of the washer and continued using it as I unhooked the drain pump from the various hoses. It was easy to swap out the old pump for the new and it took me about 10-15 minutes for the total repair. 

We took apart the drain pump assembly and thought it might be clogged with something. It wasn't clogged. It needed a new drain pump assembly. We ordered it, got it in two days (regular delivery) Great timing! And it was real easy to repair......saved a lot of money......no repair person needed! 

We ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and received the part very quickly. We then replaced it by ourselves and it works great! 

Followed the video and had it done in about 20 minutes. Should have had a few towels handy as more water came out than in the video.
