David S Easton , PA February 09, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A9700S The pump seized resulting in friction on the drive belt which resulted in a "burning odor" This was an easy fix for me (experienced) and Maytag placed the pump, motor & belts in the front of the machine chassis. Once the cabinet front was removed, I tilted the washer at a 45 degree angle resting against the wall, removed / installed the pump and belts, lowered & tested. Read More... Replaced pump in case of damage. Removed inner tub and chipped away calcification on outer tub and used white vinegar to dissolve the rest. Drain line from outer tub to pump plugged with debris from outer tub. Very easy job with proper spanner tools for tub. Video was very helpful. Read More...
