Researched the likely causes for the failure on the Web using Google search and YouTube. Ordered all of the replacement parts that could fail and cause this problem. Also ordered a replacement belt.
Removed the lower front panel, tested the fuse with an ohm meter and found had blown. Tested and found the other sensors were OK. However found a blanket of lint covering the inside of the machine. Needed to remove the upper front cover, dryer top, and drum to completely vacuum out the lint that had accumulated in the machine. Removed the fan housing. Cleaned the fan and housing thoroughly and replaced the covers, sealing with new foam tape.
Replaced the fuse and the thermostat. Oiled the rollers and replaced the drum using the new belt. Reinstalled the top and front covers. Checked the vent line for obstructions.
Tested the machine. The igniter glowed, the gas valve opened and the flame lit! Watched as it cycled on and off several times. Replaced the lower cover. All done!
Packaged up the unused parts and returned them for a full refund. I didn't mind paying for the return shipping, considering how much I sacked by doing the repair myself.
Five full loads later and the machine is running fine.
