Purchase a replacement part. Uninstalled old unit, installed new unit. The only issue is when moving the connector from old unit to new it would not snap in so when I installed it pulled out. Had to uninstall and reinstall keeping in mind not to pull on the power cable when installing. once that was done all went well. It only took 30 minutes because I had to do it twice. Keep in mind the unit will NOT make ice if the temp in freezer is too high, so when you install be patient for temp to get back to norm before ice starts to be made. Part arrived super fast too.
