How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4135008 / D7824706Q Ice Maker

Replaced the ice maker. Used pliers to pull the electrical plug from the refrigerator and socket to loosen holding screws. Make sure the water chute is attached properly after install! 

Ordered a complete replacement part. Removed the existing and installed the new one in about 15 minutes. The video was helpful. 

Ordered a new ice maker and installed it. 

I replaced the icemaker using your part and video. Received the part in about 4 days after my order and installed. Had to cut the knock out for my frig, Solved the problem. Thank you for all the help! Ken . 

I watched several YouTube videos concerning why the ice in my bin was frozen and sticking together. I removed all the food out of the freezer and took off the freezer door. I waited until the ice maker was filling with water and found where the hole was in the ice maker. This way I knew exactly what was causing my problem. I put the freezer door back on and put the food back into my freezer. I went online and ordered my part from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part came quickly. I stripped the freezer of all food, baskets and removed the door. I had watched the video on AppliancePartsPros. It was so helpful. I removed the old icemaker, took off the parts that I needed to put on the new one and installed the new ice maker. I put the baskets, food and the door back on. I was so excited to hear the first ice pieces as they dropped into the bin after a few hours. I am a 74 -year-old female and the job was simple, except my aging body made getting on the floor to make this repair the hard part. 

Installed the new ice maker in 10 minutes. 

Replaced ice maker with new ice maker. 

I watched the installation video on your website. I took out the bottom mounting screw and loosened the top two screws with a 1/4" nut driver on a screwdriver. I lifted ice maker up and it popped off the freezer wall. I then undid the electrical plug that connects the ice maker to the refrigerator. I verified the wiring was the same on the new unit as the old unit. I then plugged in the new unit and mounted it back to the freezer wall. Took less than 10 minutes to install. Started making ice in about an hour. 

Ordered the Icemaker kit and it worked out perfectly. Machine is successfully up and running .
