How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013682 / WP9703438 Dryer Drum Support Roller Retaining Ring

I disassembled the dryer to see what was causing the noise, I noticed that the tumbler bearings had failed, Also thought I would look further to see if there were other parts that looked worn. I purchased new drum rollers,Roller axles ,Drum Belt , tumbler bearings and retaining clips. It was an easy repair and only took about an hour due to cleaning the entire inside of the dryer. Now it runs like a new dryer . They even have videos to show how to do it if your not sure how to do it . I always work on my appliances and save a fortune on service or buying a replacement. 

Replaced motor, the motor clamps were ok but the material part of the motor that they hold on to had deformed. So replaced motor and now the dryer runs ok. 

Watched a you tube video on how to change the gears. 

Installed new part. 

Watched a youtube video on removing the drum from my particular dryer. Opened it up, took out the drum. Determined that one of the rollers was not working. Used the link from the video to order parts. Decided to replace the other roller and the dryer belt. Waited 5 days for parts to come. Put it back together. 

The motor locked up on my 30-year-old dryer . It burned the belt into. I installed a new motor and pulley. I did not really have to replace the pulley but I wanted to anyway. The motor was not identical replacement but the wiring was no problem to hook up. I checked the ilder and roller bearings to make sure it was OK . Replaced the belt and tried the dryer. The dryer worked perfectly. 

The drive belt was worn and cracked. Also, an inspection showed that fan wheel cam was worn and no longer tight. I replaced both in a little over an hour. The dryer now runs quietly, like new. 

With the help of Appliancepartspros.com videos I was able to diagnose the problem—worn out drum rollers. I ordered the parts and watched the repair videos which showed me exactly how to install the new parts, which I did with complete success. My old dryer now works like it is brand new! Instead of having to buy a new dryer, I fixed it and only spent $68 on parts. I’ve never worked on a dryer before, but with help from appliance parts pros.com I am confident in my ability to take on just about any appliance repair! 

Watched the video for the parts ordered from Appliance Parts. Thank goodness for the video's! It took a little while but was successful. I know I saved $250.00 plus in Labor. 

I replaced the drum support rollers, roller axle, drum belt and tension pulley. The noise is gone and dryer runs like new. I am happy appliancepartspro have all the parts I needed to fix my dryer.
