How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019303 / WPW10314173 Drum Support Roller

I did a little research and found out that the dryer drum rollers needed to be replaced. I decided that since I would be replacing the 4 drum rollers that I should replace the belt and the belt drive pulley. This was a simple project thanks to YouTube. I used one of appliancepartspor videos to st me through the repair. Now I have a dryer that does not squeal like a pig! 

At first I tried lubricating the Idler Pulley which only lasted for about a day or two then I opted for replacing the Idler Pulley, four roller wheels, belt - much better results. Thanks appliancepartspro.com! 

Access to the idler pulley was accomplished by lifting the top deck, removal of the door and front panel. Next I released the drive belt from the idler pulley. Then removed the tension spring with needle nose pliers and the cap screw holding the idler pulley assembly. Re-assemble in reverse order with the new idler pulley. Very simple. About a 25 minute repair. Tip: several examples of this repair can be found on YouTube. Note: Only the idler pulley was used for this repair. I ordered the drum support rollers and tri-ring to have on hand. 

Replaced the roller, shaft, rings and washer. After removing the back, reverse threading the nut off, discarding the old hardware and installing the new hardware back in business in about 20 minutes. 

Followed the video- opened the front of the dryer and removed the drum. It was evident that one of the wheels had worn and wasn't turning freely like the other one. The video showed how to remove the roller. Very simple process and now the dryer works just fine. 

Although only one drum support roller was worn I replaced all four. The front felt seal was torn in a couple spots so while I had drum out I replaced that also. The videos on the web site were very helpful. 

The Pulley roller was locked up and the belt was worn. While I had it apart I replaced the 4 drum rollers as well as the 2 Drum seals. Everything went well though the Drum Seals were a little difficult to put on. Needed 4 hands! NOTE - WHEN PUTTING THE SCREWS BACK IN THE TOP TO HOLD THE LINT TRAP ROLL UP A RAG AND PLACE IT IN THE OPENING! This will avoid many bad words once you drop one down the lint trap opening. 

Using the troubleshooting section of Appliance parts pro and the repair videos, I ordered the recommended parts. Disassembly was easy and the parts were easily replaced. I received the parts very promptly and they were the correct ones. I all added up to a very happy wife! 

Replaced the drum roller. 

Replaced idler pulley (which had seized), all 4 drum rollers with clips and replaced the belt- all in 45 minutes, start to finish. Your diagrams and videos were extremely helpful in the troubleshooting and ordering processes. Delivered in 2 days! Thank you!
