How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008773 / WP37001042 Dryer Drum Support Roller

Took the dryer apart, removed the drum, and replaced both rollers, put the dryer back together. Dryer heats and is very quiet. 

Replaced both drum rollers and belt. 

New drum rollers and idler pulley. I knew the drum rollers were bad but were not sure about belt and idler so I disassembled it before I ordered parts. The idler was bad and I could barely turn it. The belt was ok but I decided to replace it anyway The rollers have fiber washers on them which are not supplied with the new rollers. These may be worn so I would order them next time. I went to ace and had to use metal washer which I hope holds up If you do not have a snap ring pliers you should buy one because it makes it very easy to do this job. 30 minutes to take apart and 30 min to clean and assemble. I also used a dry lube on all the shafts which were not in the video. This dryer is identical build to some Maytags if you are looking for a YouTube video. You start by taking off the lower kick plate, then the front panel and door together, then the top, then the front panel supporting the drum. It only takes 10 min. The clean and inspect the rollers. Replace the rollers and washers and put it back together. 

Replaced Drum Support Rollers. Tricky part was getting it open. The youtube videos all suggest two spring loaded tabs, but with the LE8107W2, you have to take the bottom kick panel off first, then the door, then open the top - there are two otherwise hidden screws holding it down. Not difficult at all, just tricky. 

Replaced rollers, glides, felt, and belt. 

Replace drum roller set and drum belt. Worked out to be the perfect fix. 

Looked at your videos and found the issue quickly. Easy lookup for parts and they shipped the same day as I ordered. Great service. 

Took dryer apart, following your video. Cleaned out the lint. Removed the rollers and replaced them both. 

I replaced the drum rollers, belt pulley, belt, and drum gliders. The biggest problem I ran into when repairing the Amana gas dryer was the repair videos here on how to take apart the dryer were definitely not the same as shown. The dis-assembly was very different and I had to spend some more time to understand the process. I assume this was because I had a gas dryer vs electric. I was able to figure it out though and the gas dryer works great again. :) 

She turned off the dryer and waited for me to come home. She wanted to buy another dryer but the stores were closed. I went to pull the Dryer out and tried to move the Basket around, it didn't move very well. I figured it was the belt. I removed the Tumbler and checked the pullies. The tensioner and one of the pullies were tough to turn. I checked the motor and it was fine. So I check at APP they had the parts. I was cleaning the dust from the Dryer I broke the igniter. had to add this to the order. In two days the order was received and the shipping monkeys had broken the igniter. I immediately called, Kathy had me upload the pics of the igniter and sent an email out. In two days the second Igniter was installed and the wife is Happy!
