Louis L Westborough , MA April 04, 2015 Squealing noisy dryer The belt, front glides, and tension pulley were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. Though they were in good shape, I also replaced the rear support rollers while I had the dryer open. I took my time and used an air compressor to blow out dust and debris and vac'ed it all up. When I was done everything was as clean as I could make it. It now works like new and is quiet as can be. Read More... Robert J Sturgeon Bay , WI April 04, 2015 Appliance: Model AMANA DRYER Dryer belt and tensioner pulley Removed the 10 7/16th bolts holding the front cover and hood on.Removed the belt and tensioner assy. as this was defective.Removed the drum assy. and cleaned out unit with a shop vacuum.Replaced the tensioner assy. and reinstalled the new belt.Replaced the cover and hood,plugged the unit back in.Started it up and problem fixed.This took me approx 1 1/2 hours as I took apart to see what was wrong with the unit,then ordered the parts needed.Could have reused the old belt,but for the cost replaced it while it was apart.Cleaned the unit out which took some time,otherwise would have been an hour to do this job. Bill W Marseilles , IL March 20, 2015 Appliance: Amana Electric Dryer LE4307L The drum belt was at its end of life and it had a thump in it every time the drum went around After taking the front cover off, I saw more of a problem than just the belt and the drum rollers. My vent line had a small hole in it and lint had covered the whole inside of the dryer. I unhooked the dryer, put it on a furniture dolly, took it outside and took a leaf blower to it for about 15 minutes after taking the drum out. After inspecting it to see what parts I needed, I started an online search for parts. After talking to a local Home Depot appliance representative, he told me to go online to this site. After finding the parts I needed to repair the dryer, I contacted a person at Appliance Parts Pros (Dani) who was a great help in the questions I had and ordering the parts I needed. Also watching a short video on how to repair it was a great help. I ordered these parts on Monday at about 10:00 A.M. and had the parts in my hand Tuesday by 1:00 P.M. Repairing it was a snap. It took me approximately 45 minutes to have it up and running again. I highly recommend this web site to any DYI people. Read More...
