John H Panama City Beach , FL March 06, 2017 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIC15NRXS1 Not making ice due to moisture corroded the connections for the sensor and harness Replaced both sensor and harness. This is the second time I've had this issue. The first time I just replaced the sensor. This time the harness was just as bad. This time I removed the metal bracket that the harness connectors rest on and wrapped the connections with electrical tape and vulcanizing tape. The new harness was much longer so I was able to put it in the corner out of the way in a service loop. I recommend doing this is you experience this moisture issue. Robert S Omaha , NE April 03, 2015 Appliance: Model KUIS18PNXW O My kuis18pnxw o was not producing ice i dug in and found grid cutter was bad it was due for a cleaning anyway i continued taking it apart and found a wire had corroded and broke free of sensor After reading some reviews it was clear to me I wasn't going to mess around with rewiring the grid so I ordered it complete along with the sensor. Install was easy as the parts were identical. Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers

Christopher I Leawood , KS June 10, 2019 Appliance: Jenn-Air Ice Maker JIM158XXRS2 Under the counter ice maker not making ice My Jenn Air JIM158XXRS 2 under counter ice maker stopped making ice, it made loud whirring noises and sounded like it was sucking up water. First replaced the two pumps but that only fixed half the problem. Then replaced the valve and the sensor and have a brand new ice maker. It is working fabulously and much better than buying a new expensive one. Much easier than expected to fix but just too little information available to help guide. If anyone is reading this just replace all four pieces pretty straightforward. Jimmy F Roswell , GA May 27, 2016 Appliance: KitchenAid Ice Cube Maker KUIS15NRXB0 Intermittently not making ice and/or reduced production I searched the web and found tech articles on my KUIS15NRXB machine. A couple of them show a table of diagnostic LED steps as well as flow diagrams showing in detail the steps and concepts of this ice making machine. The 4th step in the diagnostic showed the sensor was not properly detecting water in the reservoir so the machine never went into freezing mode. The part can be replaced with a little patience, long arms and a 1/4 inch nut driver! I put down 3 for level of difficulty, not for the installation itself, but the diagnosis. works GREAT. Scott K Cincinnati , OH February 26, 2016 Appliance: Model KITCHENAID KUIS15 UNDERCOUNTER The icemaker was completely dead no lights nothing Unplugged the icemaker from the wall then plugged it back in and the power came on, went to run diagnostic and it went dead again. This happened several times, once it actually ran a cycle and started making ice, but later went dead again. I couldn't use diagnostics since it was dead, I decided to check all the pumps so I took everything out, while I was disassembling I noticed that the middle wire on the sensor plug was blue with corrosion and was loose. I stripped the wire, crammed it back into the plug and the icemaker ran fine. I then ordered a new sensor and installed it- still good after a week!!
