How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009688 / WP56461 Dryer Idler Pulley Shaft

Dis-assembled the frame starting with the front panel below the door, two screws. From there you remove the front door panel and finally the top of the box, 2 screws. Work the belt off of the basin and found two rollers were out of balance. Ordered the parts online at 4:55pm(5:00pm cutoff) and selected next day shipping. Email confirmation came a few moments later and parts were here the following day by 5:00pm. Installed the rollers and attached the belt back of the basin. Total repair time approximately 90 minutes. All screws are 5/16. 

Replaced cylinder rollers and just one of the shafts for said roller 

Replaced drum support roller and idler pulley shaft. 

Replaced all the parts the were moving parts (rollers, idler pulley shafts, tension pulley assembly and drum glides. After it was replaced everything was a quite as a church mouse...just like a new dryer. 

I bought 5 parts and it's working great! Hubby fix it. 

Remove old install new. The real story was how inexpensive your parts were and even more how quickly they arrived! Unbelievable! 

In all the years I've owned this dryer it's only needed 1 igniter till now, one cylinder roller failed, I considered buying a new dryer but after reading of all the complaints about all these new dryers I decided to fix my old one. As long as i was getting into it, I replaced all of the wear items, belt, felt seals and bearings. My wife is happy that her dryer is working and I'm happy I didn't have to spend $500- $1000 on a new dryer.
