How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013365 / WP8565925 Dishwasher Rack Stop Clip

The kit arrived early, and just in time for Thanksgiving. When I opened the box, I was skeptical that I ordered the correct parts since they looked COMPLETELY different. The original parts were entirely plastic (no wonder the wheel snapped off); the new ones were steel. But I’ve ordered from Appliance Parts Pros before so I trusted that the kit would work. Getting the old parts off was tricky and took the most amount of time. The directions enclosed were precise which made assembly easy, but the pictures were very dark. Overall a very good experience.

Suspected the heater had failed because air coming from vent was not as hot as it used to be. Long wash times were because dishwasher was waiting to no avail for water to get up to temperature. Removed dishwasher to gain access to heater electrical connections. Confirmed heater had failed by continuity check. Replaced heater per included instructions. Reinstalled dishwasher. Problem solved!

After researching on YouTube I found out about this repair kit to fix the problem of my top rack of my dishwasher . Obviously this is a common problem and I've had nothing but trouble out of it since I got it. I ordered the repair kit recommended on the video. I received it in just a couple of days. The original pieces were plastic and the repair kit pieces were metal. I opened the box to find no instructions at all just loose pieces. Luckily I was warned by the person that made one of the YouTube videos this would happen. So I followed along step by step with the video and had it all replaced in less than an hour. I can not tell you how happy I am with the result. My top rack glides in and out so smoothly, thank you for guiding me along the way. 

Screwed new arm into receptacle and replaced old end caps

I discovered that the water inlet manifold was cracked. Installed the new part which greatly improved the issue but was not completely resolved. Upon further inspection it looked like the arm bearing had seen better days so, since the machine is ten years old I opted to replace the rest of the assembly. Parts came in a timely manner and the repair was easy - top rack dishes are now spotless! By the way I am a fifty something female with no prior dishwasher repair experience - AppliancePartsPros gave me the confidence to at least try to fix it with their very helpful follow along videos.
