How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006267 / WP22002162 Door Lock Spin Enable Switch

Changed wax motor but did not work.changed circuit board and solved problem 

Changed out the wax motor and the door switch. Works perfect now. Thank you. 

First tested the control board above the dryer in my stacked Neptune. Q6 Triac and R11 resistor looked and tested fine. Then tested micro switches above washer door. One was bad. replaced it and the still working original wax motor for good measure. Total repair including tests about an hour. But I've had this apart before... 

Verified that the old spin enable switch did not close the circuit when pressed. Compared that to new switch in hand. Once switched, replaced top panel, front panel and door. Started washer and all was good. 

Replaced switch, door lock, spin enable. It was easy enough to do. I thought I would need the wax motor as well, but I had already replaced the brown stemmed one with a black stemmed one 10 years ago and I now have a spare. Also replaced burned-out bulb hard to get to used duct tape trick to remove the bulb. 

Removed cover panels over door lock system (two screws!) then replaced motor-wax and spin enable switch. The job was easy and only took 30 min. Washer is working normally so far. 

I replaced three different components but i believe the Switch, Door lock spin enable was the culprit, the other two pieces i did replace while i was doing the repair was the wax motor kit as well as the inertial balance switch..
