How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007666 / WP3149400 Range Surface Element Switch

Replaced infinite switch for that burner. 

Called AppliancePartsPros, ordered part. I was surprised received parts withing two days, replace it immediately following AP video. 

Ordered New switch and watched your video, and repaired accordingly. Video Was very helpful in replacing switch... thanks. 

Based on what I read here, I took a chance that the problem was the infinite switch and ordered a new one. It arrived very quickly. When I took the back off the stove, I saw that the old infinite switch had some brown discoloring on the plastic shell, so that made me pretty confident that the infinite switch was dying/dead. I had to shorten the knob shaft per the included instructions, which was easy. Hooking up the new switch to the wires was really easy, as they connected to the switch with two wiring separate giant connectors...one for the L1, L2 wires and on for the H1, H2 wires. Pretty hard, if not impossible, to miswire this one! Put it all back together and tested it out. Seems to be back to normal, though I will continue to monitor it over the next few days just to make sure all is good. Thanks APP! 

Replaced switch using you tube video as guide. Could not have been any simpler. 

Replaced surface element switch. 

Ordered the surface element switch, pulled stove out from wall, unplugged it, pulled knob off the front, took the, back cover off the stove, removed the two screws on the front holding the switch, the new switch was the exact as the old switch so all I had to do was unplug one wiring harness at at time from old switch and plugged it into the new switch, very easy. Placed switch back in holder and secured with the two screws I had removed, put the knob back on, put the back cover back on the stove, plugged in back in and slid back into place. Turned it on works perfectly. Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros for ensuring I had the correct part. 

I checked on-line and watched a youtube video. It was very good so the repair went very smoothly. 

Replaced with new part. 

When the part came, I watched the video a couple of times, and installed it in 20 minutes.
